Outreach Director, James Herring
James Herring, Outreach Assistant, joins New Hope staff after working with at risk youth at One Vision One Life. James spends his time reaching out to the young people in the area by directing the Y.E.S. Kids program (Youth Experiencing Success), teaching S.T.E.P. Up (Students Trained Equipped and Prepared for life after high school)and leading a F.C.A. Bible study with Oliver High School football players among other activities. James is married to Ginger and they have two sons, Demetrius and Corey.

Office Manager, Monica Smith
Monica was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA, where she’s lived on the Eastside most of her life. Monica, together with her husband of twelve years, Brian, has decided to make the Marshall Shadeland community her new home. She prides herself in being a loving wife and mother of two to Terrell and Dejah. Monica has an Associates Degree in Business Management and chooses to use her gifts in ministry. Monica also enjoys working with youth and is currently the youth choir director and mentor to girls ages 8-15 at her local church. Monica credits a large part of her growth in Christ to praise dancing. Since introduced seven years ago Monica has been ministering the word of God through dance ever since. “I love the work I’ve being doing here at New Hope. I learned early on that giving is real living”.

Music Director, Christine Morton
Christine is a Pittsburgh native where she has used her musical abilities for the benefits of the community and ministry. She became part of the New Hope Church family to continue on this path serving as the Music Director. She has over 15 years of piano performance experience and is a Duquesne University graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in Music focusing on the genres of Classical and Jazz. Though Christine's background is in Classical music, she made her segue into the gospel/jazz arena in high school. Her experience includes directing, teaching and performing

Communications Director, Ken Hale
Ken came to Pittsburgh through the outreach of Cross-Trainers, running day camps throughout Pittsburgh. It was through Cross-Trainers that Ken met his wife Christine and came to New Hope Church. He has filled many roles at New Hope Church involving youth outreach. Wanting to make better use of his gifts, Ken is now responsible for keeping New Hope fresh, through the website, Sunday morning worship, and the latest technology. Ken and Christine have a beautiful daughter named Malaika and two handsome sons, Matayo and Makko. Ken also runs a multimedia company and enjoys working on computers, drawing and painting, and being with his family.
